Chamber Privacy Policy

Chamber is a private camera. Every photo you shoot or develop is processed on your device and never leaves it. There are no accounts, no ads, no tracking SDKs, and no third-party analytics.

This policy covers the Chamber app for iPhone. It doesn't cover this website.

Chamber requests camera access so you can see the live viewfinder through the film look you have loaded and capture stills. The video feed is processed in memory on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Chamber asks for photo library access with the system's own dialog, and only when a feature needs it: when you open the library in DEVELOP to choose photos to develop, and when you save a developed image back to your library. You can allow all photos, only the photos you choose, or none. Photo library access is used on your device only, to show your photos so you can develop them; no photo or information about your library leaves it. Chamber does not read, scan, or index your photo library in the background.

If you say no, you can still develop photos: Chamber offers Apple's own photo picker, which needs no access and hands over only the photos you choose. If a photo is stored in iCloud Photos, iOS may download it from your iCloud when Chamber shows or loads it; that transfer is between your device and Apple.

When you develop a photo, Chamber keeps a copy of it — the negative — inside the app beside the developed frame, so the frame can be developed again. Deleting a frame from the roll deletes its copy too. Photos you saved to your Photos library stay there.

All film rendering — grain, halation, light leaks, borders, date stamps, colour grading — runs locally using Apple's Core Image framework. No image data is sent to any server, ours or anyone else's.

Chamber Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes payment, receipts, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and Family Sharing. We never receive or store your payment card, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.

Chamber checks your subscription entitlement locally through StoreKit to decide whether Pro features are unlocked. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Chamber keeps a private log on your device of your last 250 in-app events — things like a paywall being opened, a frame being saved, or the text of a system error. Nothing in the app reads the log back.

These events never leave your device. They are not sent to the developer, to an analytics provider, or to any third party. Deleting the app deletes them.

None of your photos reach us. Two other things can:

• Emails you send. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use them only to reply to you, and we don't add you to any mailing list.
• Reports from Apple. If you turn on Share iPhone Analytics and Share With App Developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics about Chamber with us. You can turn this off there at any time. Apple also gives us App Store download and sales totals.

• We do not require or offer an account, email address, or sign-in.
• We do not sell or rent personal data.
• We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics vendors.
• We do not use advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking, and Chamber does not present App Tracking Transparency prompts because it does not track.
• We do not use your photos to train machine-learning models.

You can revoke camera or photo library access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security or Settings › Apps › Chamber on your iPhone. Chamber will continue to work with reduced functionality.

Because Chamber holds no personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf. Deleting the app removes all locally stored settings, product events, and your in-app roll. Photos you saved to your Photos library remain there until you delete them yourself. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, iOS includes Chamber's roll and settings in that backup.

Residents of the EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with data protection laws have rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability. We honour these by design: we hold nothing about you to access, correct, or delete. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will respond within 30 days.

Chamber is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If a future version of Chamber ever adds cloud sync, off-device analytics, accounts, or server-side processing, this policy and the App Store privacy labels will be updated before that version ships, and the effective date above will change. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
