CareBrief Terms of Use

The rules for using the app and its subscription.

Effective 7 June 2026 (covers app version 1.0)

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the CareBrief mobile application ("CareBrief," "Brief," "the app"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use CareBrief.

CareBrief is published by Kiryl Zhukouski as an independent developer ("we," "our"), based in Poznań, Poland. The App Store distribution is governed in addition by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which incorporates these Terms by reference.

CareBrief is a personal organizational tool that helps a caregiver log events, track medications, prepare for medical appointments, and generate a one-page summary PDF. The "after-visit translator" feature rewrites text you provide into plain language and suggests follow-up questions.

CareBrief is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It does not replace medical advice from a qualified healthcare professional. The app's outputs — including the generated PDF and the after-visit translator — are organizational aids for your conversation with a clinician. Always defer to your or your care recipient's healthcare provider.

Do not use CareBrief in a medical emergency. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (18 in most US states) to use CareBrief. By using the app you represent that you have the legal authority to log information about the person you are caring for, or that you are logging information about yourself.

CareBrief offers a free tier and an optional auto-renewing subscription ("Premium").

Free tier:

Premium:

PlanPrice (USD)Trial
Monthly$4.99 / monthNone
Annual$39.99 / year7 days free

Premium unlocks unlimited event logs, unlimited PDF briefs, unlimited after-visit translations, voice logging (on-device speech recognition), photo attachments on event logs, read-only HealthKit vitals import, the caregiver journal, and alternate app icons.

Pricing in your local currency may differ; see the in-app paywall and the App Store for the price as charged.

Billing and renewal — Apple's required disclosure: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Auto-renewable subscriptions automatically renew at the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions, including any active free trial, in your Apple ID account settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

No refunds are provided for partial periods, except where required by law. Refund requests for accidental purchases are handled by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Free trial: If you start a 7-day free trial of the Annual plan, you can cancel anytime during the trial in your Apple ID subscription settings to avoid being charged. If you do not cancel, the trial converts to a paid annual subscription at the price in effect at sign-up.

CareBrief stores your data on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You retain all rights to the content you create. You are responsible for backing up your device through Apple's standard iCloud Backup or Finder/iTunes backup; CareBrief's data is included in those backups but we do not maintain a separate copy.

If you delete the app, the data deletes with it. We cannot recover it.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will surface a notice in the app and update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
